Payment and Conditions of Service
It is the responsibility of the customer to familiarize themselves with terms of service, prior to allowing our engineer to commence service. Accepting the terms & conditions and labour costs on our service order form and allowing our engineer to enter the premises to commence a service constitutes acceptance of all terms and conditions detailed.
You agree to pay all the following where applicable: Any unpaid balance on your account on or before the invoice due date, reasonable late payment fees added to the customers account for not paying the invoice on the due date.
Appointments
All appointments are booked on the next available appointment.
Appointments may be cancelled 24 hours prior to service. In the event the engineer attends the customers property and the customer is not present and cannot be reached on the contact number/s provided Affordable Appliance Repairs will charge a non-refundable £25.00 no show fee.
We urge customers to contact the office up to 24 hours prior on 01534520052 or email us if no answer immediately if they wish to cancel their appointment and we will update the engineer. If no such has been received Affordable Appliance Repairs reserve the right to charge a fee.
Service Call
ALL SERVICE CALLS NO MATTER HOW SMALL OR TIME SPENT ON SITE WILL INCUR A CHARGE.

Ensure the appliance is readily accessible to service engineer, if you have a stackable washer and dryer dismount the unit before the technician arrives if possible.
The Unit must be installed prior to the engineer visit.
Ensuring cookers, ovens & hobs have not been used and hot prior to the engineers visit.
If any of the above have not been adhered to AAR reserve the right to charge the customer a call out fee and may put forward to rebook for another day.
Keep small children and pets out of the engineers work area due to live testing, ensure all pets are controlled when the engineer is at the house.
Do not smoke cigarettes around our engineers.
Occasionally when we come to inspect an appliance the kick boards or surround cupboards are not easily removable so the engineer can’t gain access to repair the appliance if this is the case we will not be able to help further at that time to prevent damage – until the customer can arrange for the kick boards or surround cupboards to be removed and then re-fitted after repair completion.
If this is the situation on site we reserve the right to review the call out charge the original service call for time spent will still apply.
The customer will be liable for the additional costs to remove what is needed by separate contractors.
Based on the customer’s description of the fault, the Affordable Appliance Repairs engineer will diagnose the unit and determine what repair(s) will be necessary to resolve the issue(s). Due to the complexity of some appliances there can be additional underlying problems which cannot be determined until an “initial repair” is made. In the event an appliance has an underlying problem(s) an additional diagnosis along with an additional revised quote will be provided.
If the engineer arrives and no fault is present, it will be considered as a diagnosis of “No fault found” or “Working as designed”.
The customer will be responsible for the call out fee. No matter how small or simple the fault might be for example if the customer has left the unit switched off at the wall, the customer is still liable to pay a call out fee.
If the problem is caused, or possibly caused by a source other than the appliance itself, the engineer may recommend an examination by an outside trade contractor to confirm or rule out the possible fault. The customer is fully responsible for any expenses, cost and payment for any examinations or services performed by outside trade contractors. The customer will be responsible to pay Affordable Appliance Repairs their call out fee.
There are no free re-calls against other problems which may occur on the same unit in the short amount of time from repair completion (even if what appears to be identical symptoms), or against incidental damages. If a problem arises within this time, we urge our customers to contact Affordable Appliance Repairs on 01534520052 immediately so we may schedule a follow up appointment to address the issue and determine whether this falls under a re-call.
Recommendations
Any recommendation(s) made by our company are not mandatory, and any actions taken by the customer are at the sole discretion and financial responsibility of the customer. The customer is responsible for their own decisions.
Quotes
Quotes are required to be requested from the customer or if the repair is costing close to the cost of the appliance. These will be valid for 7 days. The customer is responsible for reviewing their quote and acting accordingly. Payment the deposit of parts, appliance(s) and/or labor indicates approval and complete agreement by the customer to have Affordable Appliance Repairs, repair/replace the appliance at the price quoted. If the quote is not accepted or deposit is not paid within these 7 days, we will assume the customer does not want to proceed with the repair and the quote will expire. An invoice will be sent for the inspection of the appliance.
Sundries if needed used on site for repair(s) or replacement appliance(s) will be added on to the invoice upon completion.
Any special orders for spare(s) or appliance(s), once the quote has been accepted and the spare(s)/appliance(s) has been ordered this will be non returnable and the customer will lose there 50% deposit for the appliance(s) or will be liable to pay for the spare(s) in full, if they are no longer required by the customer.
Quotes are based on time spent for repair/fitting, upon completing the repair/fitting if the job has taken longer or indeed shorter than anticipated we reserve the right to adjust the final invoice.
Parts
Affordable Appliance Repairs engineers have only the most commonly replaced parts in their vehicle stock. Parts will be ordered within 24 hours of initial visit or acceptance of quotes when the deposit has been transferred.
Depending on part availability, most parts will arrive within 5-10 business days. Affordable Appliance Repairs are not responsible for delays in parts shipping or delivery times, these times are based on average orders.
Special order parts may take longer.
Unfortunately, we can only relay ETA information given to our company by our part distributors. Once the part has arrived, the office will contact the customer to schedule the fitting of the part/s. Affordable Appliance Repairs reserves the right to retain old parts and components that have been replaced by a Affordable Appliance Repair service technician.
Any special orders for spare(s) or appliance(s), once the quote has been accepted and the spare(s)/appliance(s) has been ordered this will be non returnable and the customer will lose there 50% deposit for the appliance(s) or will be liable to pay for the spare(s) in full, if they are no longer required by the customer.
If the customer orders spares for repair on a self diagnosis basis (have diagnosed themselves) and upon fitting the part it is not the part required to solve to fault, the part will still be chargeable to the customer plus the parts that are required to solve the fault, the repair labour charges will still apply for time spent and for the re-visit.
New Appliances
We do keep a small amount of appliances on island and in stock please apply within.
Shipping of new appliances from our freight service only ships on a Wednesday and Friday so delays may apply.
Appliances will be ordered within 24 hours of acceptance of estimates.
Depending on appliance availability, most appliances will arrive within 5-10 business days. Affordable Appliance Repairs are not responsible for delays in appliance shipping or delivery times, these times are based on average orders.
Special order parts may take longer possibly up to 3-4 weeks.

From the time of providing the estimate & the customer accepting the estimate our distributor does occasionally go out of stock of appliances, if this is the case we will inform you of this before placing the order.

Payments
LATE PAYMENTS: Payments are due on or before the specified due date provided on the invoice sent through email. All payment options are specified on our invoices, please contact us prior to booking in to enquire regarding payment options.

GOODS REMAIN PROPERTY OF AAR JERSEY UNTIL FULL PAYMENT HAS BEEN MADE, THIS INCLUDES ALL LATE PAYMENT AND ADMINISTRATION FEES.
If your account becomes overdue the following actions will be taken:
1st Action
If invoice is not paid within the due date specified on the invoice a £15.00 late payment fee will be added to the customers account, an invoice overdue email will be sent along with a link for payment along with a link to our T&C's on our website.
2nd Action
If invoice is not paid within the 7 days of the 1st Action date, a 2nd invoice reminder will be sent via email, The customer will already be aware of this process due to the original overdue follow up, along with a link to our payment action T&C's on our website.
3rd Action
If invoice is still not paid within the 7 days of the 2nd action date, a FINAL reminder invoice will be sent out via email and post to the customers address with a headed letter to make them aware that failure to pay within 7 days their account will be sent to debt collectors.
Final Action
If invoice has still not been paid within 7 days of the 3rd action date the customer will be advised by email that they will now be sent to debt collection, along with an additional £15 administration fee.
Debt collections – Customers are responsible for any collection fees or court charges.
The late payment & administration fees are non re-refundable.
It is the responsibility of all our customers to familiarize themselves with our payment actions T&C’s.

We are not liable for any item or person that is hurt by a malfunction.
Affordable Appliance Repairs is not responsible for any damage caused by appliance malfunction. Affordable Appliance Repairs is not responsible for any floor, cabinet, counter damage or water leakage when repairing and/or removing your appliance by Affordable Appliance Repairs engineers.
We are not responsible if routine maintenance is neglected, improper use of the appliance, unit is removed/uninstalled, unit is damaged by weather, damage or interference by anyone else (other than an Affordable Appliance Repair) and/ or non-payment of service.
Damage Waivers
It is the responsibility of the customer to familiarize themselves with waivers we have in place surrounding the provision of any services we provide. These waivers are applicable for all work performed and are assumed and accepted once you allow our engineer to commence a service.
Waiver of Damages When Moving Appliance
You understand there is inherent risk in such movement. There is risk of damage to the machine itself, and to areas surrounding its installation, including but not limited to flooring, cabinetry and counter tops. You acknowledge the service engineer is not required to move the appliance. In exchange for his willingness to do so, you promise to hold faultless, both the service engineer and Affordable Appliance Repairs, from any and every liability associated with any such damage as may occur in connection with this movement.
Waiver of Damages When Working with Water
You understand the machinery that’s being worked on is connected with the building’s plumbing system, and whenever any machinery is so connected, there is an inherent risk that component failure, imperfect connections and/or other faults could result in unintended leakage and/or flooding within the building, causing significant and sometimes catastrophic damage. Excepting for cases of gross, clearly proven, and explicitly identifiable carelessness by the service engineer, you promise to hold harmless Affordable Appliance Repairs, its principals, agents and employees from any and all damages, harms or liability that may result from such an occurrence. By allowing the service engineer to commence work, you explicitly waive the right to any contrary claim.
Waiver of Damages from Lifting Glass Cook Top
You understand, in lifting a glass/ceramic cook top surface to access components below it, there is an inherent risk of breakage. The top is attached with strong adhesive, and it is not always possible to achieve separation without the surface fracturing. While expecting the service engineer to exercise every due level of care, you nevertheless recognize the service engineer and Affordable Appliance Repairs explicitly refrain from accepting any responsibility for these risks. You agree all such risks are your own (and/or your company’s) alone, and you agree to hold harmless and exempt from liability Affordable Appliance Repairs, it’s agents and employees from any and all such responsibility. By allowing the service engineer to commence work, you explicitly waive the right to any contrary claim.
Basic Appliance Installation Terms and Conditions
Our standard installation charges cover the following:
Removal and/or installation of an appliance, without the need to disturb/remove cabinetry, countertops, flooring or any other fixture. Does not include modification, drains, electrical junction boxes, and dryer vents. It is the responsibility of the customer to ensure systems for the supply of water, electrical, drainage, venting etc. meet local building codes, and are available to facilitate installation using standard materials associated with the install of that type of appliance.
However Affordable Appliance Repairs does modify small problems with plumbing and electrical works these include some electrical supply works, extension of hoses & plumbing, however extra charges for spares will apply on top of the original estimates given. We are only limited to these works if we cannot fix the issue we will require the customer to source a contractor to resolve the issue and our service call will still apply for that call out.
If Affordable Appliance Repairs is supplying and fitting an appliance, doorways, hallways etc. must allow sufficient clearance to move the unit into the installation location.
Installation charges estimated does not include cost of materials such as vent hoses, water hoses, extensions, hoses, fittings etc.
Should we call to do an installation and find we cannot proceed due to a problem occurring our standard service call will still apply.
Refusal Of Service
Affordable Appliance Repairs reserves the right to refuse service to a customer at the service engineers discretion. The customer will be held liable for a call out fee.
Service will be refused if: A customer cannot accommodate the service engineer or the accommodation in which the customer is repairing isnt sufficient for the engineer to work within.
The customer is being disrespectful or belligerent, if the service engineer feels threatened in any way or form, a customer has been, or is being, disruptive, a customer harasses the service engineer, when there are health and safety concerns, when a customer refuses to pay for services and/or when a customer is intoxicated or under the influence of illegal drugs or illegal drugs are present.
